The photography of Nan Goldin

The photography of Nan Goldin , American photographer of the most influential on the international scene, will star Tuesday, February 15 in Turin.
PEPE photo in collaboration with Guido Costa Projects and with the support of Regional Museum of Natural Science , presents the artist's autobiographical documentary I'll be your mirror (1997 ), made with the contribution of the UK documentary Edmund Coulthard.
The evening, with free admission, will end with a live performance of Almagest!

I'll be your mirror represents the most intimate portrait of the life and work of Nan Goldin.
Presented at the Edinburgh International Festival, the Berlin Film Festival and winner of the Special Jury Prize at the Prix Italy and the Prize for Best Documentary at Montreal Festival of Films and Art , paints a sharp portrait of a generation, reconstructing the ferment from the extraordinary biographical account of the photographer.

From the outskirts of his native Washington, the wild parties of the '70s and '80s in an exuberant New York, to the devastating impact of AIDS: combining video footage and pictures emerge with a sincerity and humanity amazing stories and interviews of the closest friends of the artist, whose experiences are revealed on pieces of The Velvet Underground, Patti Smith , Television and Eartha Kitt. David, who first dubbed Nan introducing it to drag clubs, Sharon, who nursed her best friend, Cookie in the terminal stages of AIDS, Bruce and his story of struggle with HIV: I'll be your mirror (title borrowed from the song by Lou Reed) as a diary resumed their lives by immersing them in soft colors that distinguish the work of Goldin, transformed into a stage of a long and painful journey.
